Skule Orchestra Auditions
Thanks for your interest in the orchestra! We're very excited about the upcoming year, and we hope you can join us.
Audition Requirements
All new and returning members must audition each year to be considered for a place in the orchestra. This ensures that all applicants have an opportunity to join each year. We use auditions to select performing members of the orchestra, as well as to seat members within the orchestra. If you have any questions, please contact us. We're looking forward to hearing you play!
General Information

All auditions will be in person from September 10-14. The link to sign up will be released in the near future.

The excerpts provided are graduated. We ask that you play to the level you are comfortable with. (If you are able to comfortably play up to the 2nd excerpt, only play until the 2nd excerpt and do not record the rest. Your comfort level for excerpts is at your discretion.) Note: If the excerpt is not in your instrument's key, you should transpose it.

If your instrument is not listed, please contact us to receive your audition excerpts and scales.
Required Materials

All musicians will be asked to play 2 scales: one major and one minor scale of the adjudicator's choice.

Musicians will be asked to play the provided excerpts for their instrument, if listed.

If excerpts are listed, musicians are asked to play an additional excerpt from a piece of their choice, a maximum of one minute long.
Piano Auditions
Pianists are asked to play two contrasting excerpts or pieces of their choice totaling no more than 11 minutes.
Percussion Auditions
Percussionists are asked to sight read material that will be given during the audition.
