Skule Orchestra Auditions

Thanks for your interest in the orchestra! We're very excited about the upcoming year, and we hope you can join us.
We are accepting winter auditions until January 7. If you have inquiries about joining the Skule Orchestra, please contact us directly.
Audition Requirements
All new and returning members must audition each year to be considered for a place in the orchestra. This ensures that all applicants have an opportunity to join each year. We use auditions to select performing members of the orchestra, as well as to seat members within the orchestra. If you have any questions, please contact us. General Information

All auditions are to be recorded and sent in via the Audition Submission Form. You will be required to submit a link to your audition videos in the form as well as answer the signup questions.

The excerpts provided are graduated. We ask that you play to the level you are comfortable with. (If you are able to comfortably play up to the 2nd excerpt, only play until the 2nd excerpt and do not record the rest. Your comfort level for excerpts is at your discretion.) Note: If the excerpt is not in your instrument's key, you should transpose it.

Be cognizant that the recording quality can change interpretation of your skill level. Please see our tips for recording at home or contact us if you are having significant difficulty.

If your instrument is not listed, please contact us to receive your audition excerpts and scales.
Required Materials

All musicians will be asked to play the provided excerpts for their instrument.
Piano Auditions
Pianists are asked to play two contrasting excerpts or pieces of their choice totalling no more than 11 minutes.
Percussion Auditions
Percussionists should be prepared to demonstrate their playing ability on a section instrument that they have available to them. We understand that for COVID-19 related reasons you may not be able to demonstrate your full abilities from home. If you wish to be considered for a percussion position please contact us.
